One of the largest manufacturers of BOPP and CPP films in the world, Taghleef Industries, headquartered in Dubai U.A.E., and Brückner Servtec joined their forces once again in a comprehensive electrical upgrade project at one of their three BOPP lines at the site in Dubai.
In detail, the upgrade package consisted of
- State-of-the-art dosing control system with Disocont ® electronics by Schenk for better user-friendliness
- New die bolt temperature control from PSG with compact high-precision control modules and a direct link to Profibus (Process Field Bus) for increased reliability
- Optimization and tuning of all drives for improved performance and easier maintenance
- Replacement of the control system with the latest Siemens S7 control system and with it a complete check of all line functions.
The new control system is much more user-friendly, ensures spare-parts availability and optimizes all functions of the film production process which saves time and material. Besides the already mentioned technical advantages, the project teams achieved additional benefits for Taghleef Industries:
- Start-up of the BOPP line was ahead of the time schedule
- Automatic roll change cycle at the winder decreased by more than 50%
