Jakang Industrial, headquartered in South Korea, upgraded its BOPP-line with the latest Integrated Process Control (IPC) system from Brückner
Due to the experienced Brückner specialists and the good coordination between the project teams, the scheduled line stop of 2-3 weeks could be decisively reduced and the line restarted after a 10 day shutdown time, i.e. five days more good film on the winder!
During the upgrade line stop, Jakang Industrial carried out also a comprehensive mechanical maintenance program which affected the whole line. Thus, coordination between the customer’s maintenance team and the Brückner upgrade team was essential for the IPC-project. Not to get in the other’s way was a challenge for both teams – but of course – exemplarily managed by them.

Within the IPC-upgrade, Brückner installed a new Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) S7 and the latest process visualization software PVSS II. For the new PLC, all signal inputs and outputs (I/O) had to be checked and corrected if necessary – which is a complete electrical maintenance and service of the whole line. Additionally, each line component received new operator stations for the revolutionary 8-Mode-Operation.
The Brückner IPC at Jakang Industrial includes:

- 8-Mode-Operation: Faster and repeatable start-up of production by using pre-defined states
- Locally installed equipment: Implementation of locally installed equipment, such as co-extruder 1 and winder contact roll, to PVSS II visualization system for easier operating handling
Brückner also trained Jakang’s staff during the functional tests of the line to acquaint them 100% with the new equipment. Jakang Industrial is highly satisfied with the operation and control of the IPC system and Brückner’s professional performance.
